The Hurst Family purchased fifty acres in what was to become the City of West
Covina in 1906. Several generations were raised on the ranch, where the family
raised walnuts, oranges and other crops.
Today, the ranch is a three acre museum, housing collections of historical
artifacts.
At the 2006 Open House, several members of the Western Antique
Power Associates joined in the festivities.
Displaying old iron with WAPA were Bob Smith, making rope and displaying
his Gilson engine; John Hampton with an assortment of corn grinders; Joe
Siddons, Sr. and Joe Siddons, Jr. with a fine collection of hand powered
grinders and an International engine; Dean and Barbara Hale with a variety
of hand tools and pitcher pump; Kelley Garcia and Rob Skinner with a Lorenz
engine powering a rock crusher.
