Ice Cream Freezer
|
This is Kelley's brainchild. The freezer is a modern unit from White Mountain, a division of Rival. They're well made and look old. The rest of the unit was made from old printing press and elevator parts. |

2 quarts milk 2 3/4 cups Sugar 3/4 teaspoon Salt 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract 1 pint whipping cream 1 pint smashed strawberries sweetened with sugar OR 1 pint smashed ripe bannanas |

Directions: The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity. It's very convenient at an engine show. We premeasure the dry ingredients and put them in a tupperware or ziplock baggie. Fruit gets the same treatment. The diary products are purchased in the correct sized containers. Just dump everything in the freezer and make it go. If you want plain vanilla, replace the fruit with a pint of half-and-half. A vanilla bean adds a nice touch as well. Don't go nuts and replace the milk with cream. All that fat clogs your arteries and it creates a waxy mouth-feel. |
